A Laser Link Distance System, which gives golfers a quick read on the distance to the pin, is shown July 30, 2001, in Madison, Wis. The system was designed by Rob O'Loughlin of Madison. A golfer pulls the trigger while aiming the device at the flagstick. When the red dot inside the gun connects with, or gets near, the reflector on top of the pin, it instantly reads the yardage.
